The UN designated 22 April as International Mother Earth Day, and this year theme is “Trees for the Earth”. Also, this year, Earth Day coincides with high-level signing ceremony for the Paris Agreement on Climate change in UN Headquarters in New York, as the first step in implementing the Agreement.
Due to high interest within Bahrain Women Association for Human Development through its Environmental Citizenship Program, in promoting awareness about global environmental issues, and contributing in making our Mother Earth a safe home for all, the program has launched an online questionnaire on this occasion focusing on climate change.
The questionnaire is considered as one of the sources of information on which the program will design its awareness initiatives, as there is usually lack of updated statistics and data indicting people’s awareness level about environmental issues. The questionnaire is composed of 14 questions designed to analyze public awareness level regarding climate change issue in terms of daily life practices and behavior patterns. The questions deal with this year’s theme “Trees for Earth” as trees help combat climate change.
The program looks forward to having good response to questionnaire which will aid in focusing the awareness efforts at most important aspect that needs attention.
