Dr. Wajeeha Albaharna President of Bahrain Women Association participated and presented a paper “Family Planning from an Islamic Perspective” in the third Women Deliver global conference held on May 28-30, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This international event seeks to reduce maternal mortality and achieve universal access to reproductive health.
The conference aims in advancing womens and girls reproductive health, and discussed the global progress on family planning, and means to improve different countries strategies to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. Moreover, the conference also addressed the issue of ending violence against women, and assured that investing in womens reproductive health equals investing in economic and social progress for everyone. The conference serves as a global platform for ensuring the health and rights of girls and women, with participants including government leaders, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and global media outlets.
