Dr. Rana Al Sairafi, Managing Director of Be-Free Program, a part of Bahrain Women Association – For Human Development, conducted a training workshop titled “Development Pathways for Humanity and Family” for parents in cooperation with Manama Social Center.
The workshop covered the aspects of effective human development that build maturity and gets reflected in dealing with family and children. Moreover, the workshop discussed how our perspective of problems and challenges in life affects the way we deal with it, along with three ego-defense mechanisms that hinders our ability of facing these challenges, and therefore we can’t learn from, nor overcome them, which affects the way our children deal with these challenges too. These mechanisms are among the biggest obstacles of Human Development, and if we learn to deal with them in a better way, we can develop much faster.
The participation and interaction with the workshop was fruitful, they discussed in groups these mechanisms, and how to deal with them, and at the end they presented some real life cases and shared their personal experiences.
