BWA participates in a Global Media campaign “Women Speak Out for Peace”

As a response to the campaign launched by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) during the week before the International Day of Peace on September 21st, under the slogan “Women Speak out for Peace”, targeting the United Nations, regional organizations, and all concerned individuals and parties, aiming to bring media exposure to the role of women as peacebuilders and agents of change, and to demand greater accountability for decisions relating to women, peace, and security, Bahrain Women Association – for Human Development (BWA) participated with several media activities, including an electronic card in Arabic and English, an article distributed to BWAs wide database and published in its website, posts on social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr), as well as media coverage for related BWA programs such as “Unbounded Women” relating to women and peace, and “Be Free” to teach children the principles of peace.

During the launch event for BWAs “Women Embrace Peace” project, which was held in Bahrain Women Union on September 14, BWA announced its participation in the GNWP campaign and detailed the areas of participation, as well as invited women associations to participate by all available means of media.
