Engineer Saba Al Asfoor, head of Women Program, in BWA participated in regional women’s seminar on comprehensive dialogue in the Middle East and North Africa, entitled ‘Bypassing differences for women advancement through dialogue, experiences from real life’. The seminar was held in Tunisia during the period 15-16 December 2016. The meeting was organized by Search For Common Ground (SFCG) in collaboration with the United Nations women organization.
Search for Common Ground (SFCG), with support from UN Women, facilitates an initiative to advance women’s rights through innovative, inclusive dialogue among women’s CSOs from different ideological, socioeconomic, and generational backgrounds across the MENA region. The meeting included presentation on CSOs experiences on how to bring together groups on from different ideological backgrounds on one table for dialogue seeking common ground, the presentations were from a number of Arab states, their aim was to conduct a dialogue to come up with solutions for some issues of concern to women, such as anti-violence and modify/develop laws for family status. The second day included roundtable discussion on various topics, including (cooperation through ideological differences, cooperation across the social and economic discrepancies, and cooperation through the differences between generations).
