BWA President Participates in the Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Network for NGOs

President of BWA Dr. Wajeeha Albaharna participated in the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Network for NGOs, which was held in Cairo on March 1st 2014, as member of the Board of Trustees and coordinator with the network’s members (non-governmental organizations and individuals). The meeting was held under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Chairman of the network, and with the participation of representatives of the Board of Trustees of Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Morocco.
Participants discussed several points; most notably: agreement to carry out assessment of the work of the network during the last ten years, as a prelude to formulate a plan of action for the network during the next phase to cope with the global and regional developments, and prepare for members elections for the new Board of Trustees in each Arab country, under the supervision of an independent commission, and follow-up the twelfth annual report of the Arab NGOs “The role of Arab civil society organizations to enrich the arts , creativity and cultural enlightenment” which aims to stimulate interest in the current and possible role for Arab NGOs in enriching the arts, literature and creativity and enlightenment, and shed light on the outstanding models of civil organizations in Arab countries ,reflecting some segments awareness of the importance of creativity and contribution to the advancement of cultural enlightenment.
