During her participation in Bahrain International Conference for environment Protection Mrs. Frutan: Developing environmental awareness shall be derived from a person’s own values and sense of responsibility

Mrs. Fatima Frutan, a member of the environmental citizenship program in Bahrain Women Association for Human Development; has participated in the Bahrain International Conference for Environment Protection organized by Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) in cooperation with Dalal Al-Zayed Consultancy Center, under the patronage of HM the King’s Personal Representative, SCE Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

On the launch of the conference on the 23rd of March 2016, Mrs. Frutan contributed to the discussion by stating the significance of the environmental laws & regulations and emphasized on the importance of enhancing environmental awareness within the society including all representatives of industrial and commercial companies to ensure the sustainability of the environmental resources for future generations. Mrs. Frutan also touched on the vital and complimentary role of the civil society, the government and private sector institutions with the existence of environmental laws & regulations. She also added, that developing environmental awareness should be based on one’s values and sense of responsibility rather than focusing on how to avoid any infringement or fine.
