Environmental Citizenship wins The Ford Environment Grant

Environmental Citizenship Program of Bahrain Women Association for Human Development, holder of the Consultative Status with the United Nations, was amongst the winners of FORD 2015 Environmental Award grants. In its attempts to encourage projects aiming at  preserving and protection the environment, Ford allocates financial grants every year for projects which are devoted to environmental issues on national level as ongoing and sustainable basis. Winners came from various Arab countries, such as UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.

In this context, Mrs. Fatima Frutan, head of the Environmental Citizenship Program, explained that the grant reflects the vital role of the private sector institutions with non-governmental organizations towards sustainable development.
