Coming from its vision, Bahrain Women Association – for human development-BWA “ Empowering….”, and from its principal of empowering its members in the aspects of achieving its goals, and through informative and scientific experiences gained through its participations in many workshops and courses, Eng. Saba Al Asfoor –the president presented a workshop to a group of BWA’s members titled by “ managing participatory planning in facing climate changes and its relation to Gender” which was attended and trained by her in Sharm Al Sheikh back in June 19-23 2011, organized by (ROWA) for (IUCN) coordinating with (ISESCO) and (CEDARE).
At the beginning of the workshop Eng. Al Asfoor presented the environmental and natural transitions world is going through, stating that the reasons behind all that is the deficiency in the human mind sets due to irresponsible confidence in the natural, economical and environmental systems, without considering any precaution measures, in addition to not setting any substitutable plans to an emergency that may occur by any natural disaster arising from any surrounding countries.
The workshop also focused on the importance of all industries contributions to face the weakness of the environmental system due to the climate changes and try to act in resilience that would help the system to absorb any disorders without getting its nature affected, the way it works and its ability to adopt with pressure and change.
In the second part of the workshop she trained them on building plans that depends on vision creations, building strategies, planning, executing, revising, continuous evaluations, expected scenario determinations to reach the documentation part of the executions.
