Opening the training program on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the role of women in peace

On Saturday March 14th BWA launched the first session of the training program on UNSCR 1325 with the attendance of members of Board of Directors of other women associations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

At the beginning of the program Dr. Wajeeha Al-Baharna- President of  BWA- indicated that this program came after a series of  intensive workshops organized by ‘Women Embracing Peace’ members during a period of one year to gain good understanding and knowledge of resolution 1325 and all related international references and resolutions, in addition to UN mechanisms and procedures directly related to the UNSCR 1325.They also studied many success stories on women’s role in achieving peace in countries that went through wars, conflicts and turbulent conditions.

On the other hand, Engineer Asma Rajab-Head of the women’s program in BWA-  declared the importance of the commitment and the attendance of all the sessions in this  program to ensure the greatest possible benefit, since the program comprises of four intensive and interrelated training workshops.
