Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) and Be-Free Program sign a MoU

Telecommunication Regulatory Authority and Be-Free Program of Bahrain Women Association – for Human Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding, for a partnership project that involves writing and disseminating a booklet for children and teens, about cyberbullying from which many suffer. The booklet aims at increasing children’s awareness of cyberbullying, its effects, how to take an effective role to reduce it, and avoid being a victim of it.

This cooperation comes as part of achieving the goals of cyber security unit in Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and the goals of “Smart+” project that Be-Free Program launched in 2008, which aims at protecting children and teens from the dangers of internet and smart devices, and cooperating with related local and international organizations.

It is worth mentioning,the relationship between TRA and Be-Free Program started in 2009, when Be-Free invited TRA to participate in the international conference on “Effective Strategies for the Prevention of Child online Pornography, Trafficking,and Abuse” which was the first conference of its type in the Middle East, and TRA had a special contribution in it.
