Environmental citizenship program of Bahrain women association for human development organized a youth workshop, for high school and university students, in Tuesday 29 of October 2013, under the title “vigilance appeal”. Because of the big challenges and risks that is going through today’s world, wither it was social, economic or environmental, it is important to integrate the youths, introduces them to these issues and how to address it, has become more urgent than before, and for that reason the program targeted this category, to introduce them about the climate changes in the world because of the frequent natural disasters that was affected from the climate changes and the global warming recently.
The workshop was provided by the members program Mrs. Jehad Jaffar and Mrs. Zainab Humaidan. The climate changes were discussed in four points: climate change definition, the causes of climate change, consequences of climate change and youth roles in reducing these consequences. Besides, the impact and severity of climate change that poses a threat of fight poverty and economic development efforts.
The workshop gained the attention of the participants and their positively interact; it also contributed them of the awareness of their important role and their participation in achieving a better future for their country and world.
Note that Bahrain women association represented by citizenship environmental program, before years ago cares about the youth category, also develop their scientific and cognitive abilities in the environment field and develop their potential and competencies, in order to achieve the goals of the sustainable development.
