‘Women Self-Empowerment’: BWA paper in The Unified Annual Meeting of Community Service Committees in Saudi Arabia

In the sixth annual forum “The Unified Fatimi Forum of Committees in Saihat, Saudi Arabia”, a member of BWA’s Women Program, Alya AlYusuf, delivered a lecture on self-empowerment on Friday, March 24th, in the presence of more than 160 women cadres working in various committees of the community service centers in Seihat, Saudi Arabia. The paper addressed women potentials and their role in achieving women mission, she touched upon the concept of the virtue of motherhood as a source of strength that women possess instinctively, however,  it has been distorted to become a source of weakness and convergence rather than a source of pride and benevolent.

The conference aims at empowering a female cadre able to balance between family/house responsibilities and volunteer work overcoming the difficulties involved. This conference also honors women working in the committees, as they are busy throughout the year organizing and attending different community services activities.

This annual meeting is diverse in terms of attendees,  where all the committees meet to unite their vision under a common theme and then exchange experiences of all centers operating in Seihat.
